Many parents start facing a big challenge to teaching kids in the early stages when their kids start walking and talking at home. Early age is considered so important for child education and skill development. However, there are many emerging ideas to sending the child of two years old to preschool/kindergarten, but on the other hand, many learning theories, schools, and parents don’t accept the idea to enroll the child at the age of two years. The researches have proved those children who had poor oral and learning skills between the age of 2 and 3 years have been suffered from many problems in kindergarten. So, there are 5 activities to teaching kids at home which can enhance the learning skills in early childhood. 

1. Create  Everyday Activities To Learn

Create learning activities in everyday life for your kids. Children love to experience and learn new things by nature. They want to listen to new sounds, play with new toys, and do some new activities. It is a parental responsibility to know, how they help their kids to improve their learning skills through creating and selecting learning activities as they can improve counting skills through counting games.  

2. Set a Special Time for Reading

Research has proved that reading storybooks for children is one of the best activities to develop knowledge, learning, and cognitive skills in childhood. [i] Reading also helps to improve the vocabulary. It enhances social interaction and plays a key role in making a strong relationship between parents and children.  Try to buy some kids’ books such as picture books or board books for your child according to his interests and personality. These simple books help to build reading habits in your child.

3. Focus on the Learning Names

At the early age, the child starts using their fingers to point out the things that he wants. Try to repeat the name of that thing until the child learns and memorizes/remembers it well. Parents focus that their children should learn the names of things around them. This method must apply to learn the names of family members and other friends. This activity helps to improve cognitive skills in early childhood.

4. Encourage free playing in Childhood

 Play is an effective source of learning in childhood. It improves fine motor skills, regulates the child’s emotions and helps to improve communication skills. Set a particular time and a place for free play at home. Children love to play and learn new experiences. Pay attention to provide all equipment and opportunities for play to your child.  Try to become a partner of your child during play.

5. Sing a simple song for Child

Children love to listen and sing a song. Let the child learn different rhythms which can be interesting and simple that can improve the math and language skills. Let him repeat them and try to become the partner of your child during singing. Children can learn fast through fun activities. They can learn alphabets with simple songs easily. Give your special time to select the leaning songs and rhythms list.

In Conclusion: Here are 5 ways for parents to teaching kids at home before sending them to school.  It is a parental responsibility to prepare their children to face the challenges in the modern world. The quality of early education trains the children to achieve high achievements in their educational career. However, poor learning performance in early education is linked to poor performance in primary education.
